Analyzing Your Performance

Your Overview dashboard is the central analytics hub inside Cite AI. It helps you monitor:

  • AI visibility
  • share of voice
  • brand positioning
  • source influence
  • and competitive performance across tracked prompts

The dashboard combines visibility analytics with real AI responses so you can understand not just what changed, but why.

Overview Dashboard

Your dashboard is organized into several core sections:

  • Visibility Trends
  • Brand Rankings
  • Top Sources
  • Recent AI Responses
  • Prompt Analytics
  • Competitive Insights

Each section helps you measure a different layer of AI visibility performance.

Dashboard Filters

Use filters at the top of the dashboard to narrow your analysis.

  • visibility

Country Filter

AI responses often vary significantly by country.

The Visibility graph tracks how frequently your brand appears in AI-generated answers compared to competitors.

Each line represents a different brandโ€™s visibility over time.

This helps you:

  • monitor visibility growth
  • identify competitive movement
  • and detect category shifts across AI platforms

Hovering over the graph reveals:

  • exact visibility percentages
  • competitor performance
  • and daily trend changes

Brand Rankings

The Brands section compares overall performance across tracked competitors.

For each brand, Cite AI calculates:

Visibility

The percentage of AI responses where the brand appears.

Higher visibility indicates stronger presence across AI-generated recommendations.

Share of Voice (SOV)

The percentage of total brand mentions captured relative to competitors.

A higher Share of Voice means your brand dominates more AI conversations within your category.

Position

Measures average ranking order when your brand appears in AI responses.

Examples:

  • Position 1 = mentioned first
  • Position 3 = mentioned third

Lower position values indicate stronger authority and recommendation priority.

Source Analysis

The Sources section helps you understand which websites AI platforms rely on when generating responses.

This reveals:

  • which domains influence AI answers
  • what content sources competitors benefit from
  • and where your authority is being built

Source Categories

Cite AI groups domains into categories such as:

  • Editorial
  • Corporate
  • User-Generated Content (UGC)
  • Forums
  • Community Platforms

This helps identify which source types dominate your industry.

Recent AI Responses

Recent Responses show the latest AI-generated answers across your tracked prompts.

This section helps you:

  • inspect real responses
  • identify brand mentions
  • review citations
  • and monitor positioning changes

Each response includes:

  • the original prompt
  • AI response
  • detected brands
  • AI platform

You can also filter to show only responses mentioning your brand. And export your the mentions.

Prompt Analytics

Navigate to the Prompts section to manage and analyze all tracked prompts.

Prompts are grouped by Topics for easier organization.

Prompt Metrics

Each prompt includes:

  • Visibility: How often brands appear for that specific prompt.
  • Position: Average ranking order across responses.
  • Mentions: Brands detected in responses for the prompt.

Individual Prompt Analysis

Clicking a prompt opens a detailed prompt-level dashboard.

This allows you to:

  • analyze one prompt independently
  • compare competitors directly
  • inspect response history
  • and identify visibility shifts over time

Brand Visibility vs Source Visibility

These are two separate concepts.

Brand Visibility

Your brand is explicitly mentioned inside the AI response.

Source Visibility

Your content or domain influences the response, even if your brand name is not directly mentioned.

Why This Difference Matters

You may:

  • appear frequently as a source but rarely as a brand
  • or appear frequently as a brand without strong citation presence

Both scenarios reveal different authority gaps.

Examples:

High Source Visibility + Low Brand Visibility

Your content influences AI models, but your brand recognition remains weak.

High Brand Visibility + Low Source Visibility

AI associates your brand with the topic, but your content is not heavily trusted as a citation source.

Tracking both gives a more complete picture of your AI visibility performance.
